Music recorded in Brooklyn, New York.
Video Recorded in Long Island City and Brooklyn, New York.
We record music. I focus on tape recorders, such as reel to reel machines like the teac 40-4, and four track cassette recorders like the tascam 414 MkII. Microphone preamps, tube mic pres, Ribbon mics, Cassette tapes, Guitars and Vintage guitar amps, great sounding mics- these are things that I feel deserve attention in the world of digital audio and DAWs. Not obsolete, these recorders are more viable now than ever, and should be used! Vintage gear rules!
Conversations with Bad Acquaintances by the Frank Olson Twins - for 2017 Indie folk and Alternative rock
The Frank Olson Twins are so excited to release our first full length album titled: Conversations with Bad Acquaintances.
Thanks to everyone who attended the album release show on January 15, 2017 in NYC, it was a big success for us!
Though the album is labelled for the Alternative Rock genre, there are shades of Indie Folk present in the recording.
This album features acoustic guitar, electric guitar (and tube amps!), acoustic drum recording, and fat bass guitar tones. Ribbon mics, Tube microphones, Condenser mics, and dynamic mics were all used in the recording process. "Placement is key!"
Thanks to every listener on Youtube, Spotify and Bandcamp. My previous EP got over 10,000 streams in a little over a year!
Please enjoy this album, and thank you for listening!
Thank you!
